Minidriver, or Card Module, is the most recent technology to interface smart cards to Windows. It integrates more closely to Windows user experience than the traditional CSP. It is also lighweight and easy to install, because one file covers all Windows versions. A minidriver is a plug-in for the Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider, which implements much of the functionality of a traditional CSP middleware.

Aventra has developed a minidriver for MyEID cards and tokens. It currently supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, and Windows Server 2003 and 2008. Both 32 and 64 bit versions are supported. You can download the latest version here. See the release note.
